These "Cayucos Summer Oranges" have been available here for a few years. I remember trying them last year (or was it the year before) and they weren't so hot. This year, oh boy. They are so good, I can't stop buying them. They are so sweet and juicy. Not the easiest things to peel, so I either slice & eat them, or lately, I've been squeezing them for juice. They are very easy to juice by hand, and two of them give you a juice glass full. Yum! They have been on sale for $2 a bag, which makes them $1.50 a pound which seems decent. Yesterday, they were $2.50 a bag, but I didn't hesitate to grab them. I know this is a fleeting crop, so I want t enjoy as many of them as I can. I love it that they are local *and* so delicious. It's a win win for sure!
How was your weekend? It was beautiful here again, and got up to 80 yesterday afternoon. I took the dogs for a walk on the beach around 3:30 and it was roasting. The boys were panting by the time we were done. I don't know if it's global warming or what, but I've sure been enjoying it. Rain in the forecast for Thursday-Sunday though...

My next door neighbor has 2 naval orange trees and shes been keeping us stocked with oranges for a few weeks now. They are also very juicy and delicious! When I run out, I just go next door and grab the "orange picker basket thingy" and pretend I'm a famer.
Yum yum yum!
I meant "farmer". (See I can't even spell it)!
The bag of oranges I brought home after Christmas went all too fast. They were the best!!
