We had fire extinguisher training today. This is the instructor giving us the rundown. I got to use three different types and now feel fairly confident that I could actually use one on a real fire. Kinda nice to get out of the office for a change of pace!

A new title, a bit of a new direction
Well, the remodel has been officially over for some time, and it's fair to say any projects now are of the plain "home improvement" type. With that in mind, we decided to change the name of the Blog to "Life at the Casa." We'll continue to post updates about the house, but will also branch out & post other drivel, I mean, excellent content :) We've archived off all the original posts from the "Diary of a Remodel" Blog so we will always have a copy of "the original" to look back on as a record of the project.
So, here we go. I was out walking around campus at lunch, as I do every day, and I made a trip over to the rose garden. It's almost in full bloom right now, and my crappy phone camera can't do it justice, but this will give you the idea.
The weather in the past 10 days has been all over the place. The weekend of the 4th & 5th was a bit chilly, this past weekend had it at the upper 70's on the coast. It's supposed to cool down a bit this week. I guess that's Spring for you huh?
